Elsewhere

Alone, one night you awaken, the long familiar treeline bordering your backyard has pulled back, and a dark path lies before you. You don’t know why you felt it, but it is as if your home is no longer yours, and it is begging you to leave. Alone, you venture forth.

Elsewhere is a dynamically-generated adventure/puzzle game. Reminiscent of old-school point and click adventure, the player must interact with NPCs, and collect items that can be combined and used to progress through the story. However, the world of Elsewhere is ever changing. The locations you will be guided to through the dark winding roads are randomly selected and shuffled. The only way for the player to guide their progress is to find items which have a magical pull to certain locations. Holding a character’s pocket watch for example, will make it very likely that the player will wander off the road back into the town where that character lives.
The game world consists of hand crafted levels, randomly shuffled, and placed in a continuous string of a winding randomly generated road, with it’s own dangers. Players will find characters friendly and hostile, forlorn and full of hope, reassuring and bizarre.
Elsewhere is a dynamically generated adventure game taking place in a hostile, glitched-out world. Explore a broken, ever changing realm, rife with mysterious characters to help and sinister creatures to avoid. Elsewhere is a departure from reality, where the only way back is to dive deeper into the unknown.
